Chairperson's WelcomeAs Chairperson of the Environmental Commission, it is my honor to extend this welcome to you to browse our Web Page. We are very proud that the City of Linden had the vision to create an Environmental Commission. While this action is important to any community, in our opinion it is essential in an industrial area such as ours. We have worked diligently to develop and maintain an interaction between the environment and industry over the years. As a municipal body, we are committed to the concept of dissemination of accurate information to the public. We have a periodic newspaper column, In Our Environment, in the Spectator Leader. To provide some background information, the Commission consists if nine members who are residents of Linden and serve without compensation. We are members of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions. We are the only Municipal Board to have representation on the Bayway Complex Community Advisory Panel, Linden Economic Association, Linden Industrial Association, Merk & Company Community Advisory Panel, and Safety-Kleen Community Advisory Panel. Additionally, we serve as municipal liaison with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and are currently involved in the LCP Chemical Superfund Clean-Up Site. We welcome you to attend our meetings which are held in the City Council Office at City Hall or you may contact us with the information noted below.
