On
July 10, 2010 at 1:08 AM officers were sent to the 300 block of
McCandless St. on a report of men with guns. Arriving officers were told
that two men standing near a Cadillac and two other men near a BMW were
the suspects. When the officers arrived, the foursome attempted to flee,
but stopped when ordered at gunpoint. One of the men, identified as
Scott A. Reddick, male, age 31, attempted to discard a black handgun,
and was placed under arrest. The gun was a Taurus .40 caliber loaded
with 10 rounds of hollow-point ammunition. Officers then observed a
silver Phoenix Arms 25 caliber handgun in the BMW loaded with 7 rounds
of ammunition. Arrested were Kevin M. Williams, age 24, and Jamion T.
Fenner, age 30, both of Linden. Mr. Reddick was charged with possession
of a handgun, possession of hollow-point ammunition, and receiving
stolen property because the handgun was reported stolen; his bail is set
at $75,000.00. Mr. Fenner was charged with possession of a handgun and
certain persons not to possess weapons, bail $50,000.00. Mr. Williams
was charged with possession of a handgun, bail set at $25,000.00. Also
charged at the scene was Fuquan Copeland, age 27, of Rahway. He was
charged with obstructing and possession of CDS, total bail is
$12,500.00. Court date set for July 19, 2010 at 9AM at Union County
Court. Scott A. Reddick is also from Linden.
