AM officers Jason Mohr and Martin Jedrzejewski were on patrol on the
1900 block of E. St. George Ave. when they passed two individuals who
appeared to be smoking cigarettes but smelled burning marijuana as they
passed them. The officers circled the block, parked their patrol car,
and approached the two on foot. When one of the males observed the
approaching officers, he placed the cigarette into his mouth and began
to ingest it. The second male ran into a barber shop and attempted to
flee the officers before he was apprehended and arrested. The first
male, Raphael Jean Charles, age 34, of Colonia, was charged with
possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence, His bail was set at
$3,500.00. The second male, Baron John Williams, age 29, of Roselle, was
charged with obstruction and resisting arrest. His bail was set at
$6,000.00. Both individuals were sent to the county jail with a court
date set for June 2nd.
