During the overnight hours between April 19th and April 20th
in the Sunnyside section of Linden there were 12 car burglaries and 2
motor vehicle thefts. Some of the vehicles were left unlocked and nearly
all reported no damage. The glove compartments and center consoles were
ransacked and the items taken included GPS units, sunglasses, and
change. The thefts occurred in the 10 to 300 blocks of the streets
bordering N. Wood Ave. and include Orchard Terrace and Summit Terrace.
Residents are urged to lock their car doors and keep valuables out of
sight and record serial numbers of electronic items to give to the
police in the event of a theft. The police department will be increasing
patrols in this area and anyone observing individuals or vehicles acting
suspiciously are urged to contact the police department.
