Responding officer James Carter observed the suspect in a 2001 Jaguar S-type with Virginia license plates travelling at a high rate of speed south on Routes 1&9 into Rahway. The officer eventually caught up to the vehicle in Woodbridge Twp. and pulled it over using the overhead lights. Mr. Williams was found to be in possession of sixteen gift cards from Visa, American Express, and Toys R Us which are also suspected to be stolen or counterfeit. He was charged with credit card theft, fraudulent use of a credit card, and theft by deception. After he was placed under arrest and put in a patrol vehicle, he kicked the rear window with his foot damaging the window frame resulting in an additional charge of criminal mischief.
