An arrest has been made in the case of a
residential burglary which occurred on the 600 block of Brook St. on
November 5, 2009. On that date, between 12:00 PM and 3:00PM someone
removed two glass panels from a rear door and cut the screen to gain
entry. Several rooms were ransacked and taken were a laptop computer, a
GPS unit, an Apple IPOD, and a Nintendo WII game console. Detectives
responded to the house and recovered physical evidence which was sent to
a lab for analysis. Meanwhile, the suspect, Junior A. Arias, male, age
29, of Elizabeth, was arrested in Hillside Twp. and charged with
burglary. Recovered from the suspect was one of the items stolen from
the Brook St. residence. Last week, detectives received lab results that
linked Arias to the Linden burglary. He was charged with burglary,
receiving stolen property, and criminal mischief. His bail was set at
$50,000.00 cash with a court date of March 10, 2010. He is currently
lodged at the Union County Jail on the Hillside charges. The
investigation is continuing to see if Arias was involved in other
burglaries in the area during last fall. The arrest is the culmination
of good investigative work by Detectives Andrew Spano and Edward Adams.
