On
February 12, 2010 at 3:35 PM officers Airan Fernandez and Joseph
Kaulfers were on patrol when they observed a 2001 Honda Civic stopped in
the middle of the street on N. Wood Ave. and Price St. They then
observed a male approach the driver and engage in a hand-to-hand
transaction with the driver. Believing that a drug deal had taken place,
they pulled the vehicle over when it pulled away from the intersection.
The driver, Christopher Worden, male, age 19, of Linden, was found to be
in possession of an "Apple bag", used to package drugs. The passenger,
Katherine S. Loveland, female, age 22, of Cranford, was found to be in
possession of a zip-lock bag with 10 small baggies of marijuana. Both
individuals were charged with possession and distribution of marijuana,
distribution within 500’ of George Farawell Memorial Park. Mr. Worden
was also charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia, being an
unlicensed driver and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Both were
released on summonses with a county court date set for February 19,
2010.
