On
January 22, 2010 at 3:34 PM during the course of a narcotics
investigation led by Det. Kevin Mikolajczyk, officers stopped Shakir
Scott, male, age 24, of Newark, on the 1100 block of W. St. Georges Ave.
Mr. Scott attempted to elude officers which led to a foot pursuit, and
during the pursuit, he was observed discarding a plastic bag containing
21 smaller baggies of suspected marijuana. He was subsequently
apprehended and charged with the following: resisting arrest, possession
and distribution of marijuana. His vehicle was located a short distance
away and was found to have a stolen license plate on it. He was also
charged with receiving stolen property, driving while license suspended,
having an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and possession of CDS in a
vehicle. His bail was set at $35,000.00 cash with a court date set for
January 29, 2010 at Union County Central Intake. He was transported to
the Union County Jail.
