On January 21, 2010 at 8:15 PM after a month-long investigation by Det. Kenneth Mikolajczyk of the Narcotics Squad, officers stopped a 2006 Suzuki Aerio on the 3300 block of Tremley Point Rd. The driver, Alexander Maldonado, male, age 29, of Elizabeth, was found to be in possession of 3 bags of marijuana and 22 pills believed to be Ecstasy. He was charged with possession of CDS (ecstasy), distribution of CDS (ecstasy), possession of marijuana, distribution of marijuana less than one ounce, two counts of distribution within 500’ of Veterans Memorial Park. He was also charged with motor vehicle violations, possession of CDS in a vehicle, and driving with a suspended license. Also seized from Mr. Maldonado was $2,335.00 in U.S. currency. His bail was set at $105,000.00 and he was given a court date of January 29, 2010 at Union County Central Intake. He was transported to the Union County Jail.
