On
January 24, 2010, at 4:27 AM, officers responded to an alarm at the
Leather Factory, 231 W. Edgar Rd. There they found a double glass door
smashed out. A subsequent search of the building found no persons
inside, but the police did recover a pry bar. The owner responded and
reported that 20 assorted pieces of leather and fur coats were missing.
He placed a value on the stolen items at approximately $20,000.00. A
witness reported seeing a brown Jeep Cherokee at the store just prior to
the police arriving on the scene. The Jeep was last seen heading north
on Routes 1& 9. Anyone with information on this crime can contact Det.
