The Linden Department of Public Property and Community Service maintains various buildings that are used to
provide the residents and children of Linden programs and activities.
This is the Home Office of the Recreation Department handling all administrative duties. It is located at
605 South Wood Avenue. Phone Number: 908.474.8600.
This center is the home of basically all of our Senior Citizen Programs and the majority of our Health and Fitness
Programs. Located at 330 Helen St., it is open Monday through Friday for various city recreation programs including
exercise rooms, billiards, and table games available daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is also a free library
for all Linden Senior Citizen residents. Included in the library are various current magazines and books. The library
is open Monday through Friday, 7am-4:30pm. Residents are permitted to borrow all available reading materials.

This center is the primary home for youth activities in the city. It houses a full gymnasium, a game room, a meeting room,
a weight room, a cardiovascular room, and an outside organization (Communities In Co-operation) that deals with family
assistance, youth mentoring, job readiness and promotion, just to name a few. It is located at 1025 John Street.

The Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade is home to the performing arts in Linden, located at 400
North Wood Avenue, next to the Post Office and across from City Hall. Free concerts, special events, and dance nights are
The 7th Ward Rec Center, 8th Ward Rec Center, Wilson Park Rec Center and the Sunnyside Rec Center at Werkmeister Park are
additional facilities that are not utilized daily but rather on an occasional basis. Arts and Craft classes and various meetings
are the type of activities held at these facilities.
