7th Ward Councilman
|
|
On January I, 2008, I became an employee of the City of Linden. I feel that my position as a Councilperson is geared towards the needs of the Linden taxpayer. It will not be geared towards re-election votes. I am open to new ideas and will always listen to the taxpayer!
A brief history of my family dates back to the 1890’s when the Sheehy family settled in Linden. My Grandfather owned and operated one of the last blacksmith shops and also had a trucking/excavating company. I believe he unloaded the 1 fire engine off the train. Just to mention, my other Grandfather, Stephen Wolf, was a Linden Police Officer and my Father Jack Sheehy, Sr. is a retired Linden Firefighter and owns and operates Sheehy’s Reliable Tire Service, Linden, NJ. I’m very proud to mention these gentlemen! They have taught me how to respect and appreciate life.
I attended St. Theresa’s school Kindergarten through 4th grade; transferred to School #7, continued onto Soehl Middle School, and graduated from Linden High (Vocational School) in 1976. The very next day I started working for the family business and have been there ever since. Our company is well known throughout the City and has helped so many residents over the years. We will continue to do so!
I am married to my wife, Linda (Hesse) for 22 years. We have four wonderful children. Jaclyn 21, Katelyn 18, (both graduates of LHS) and attendees of Montclair State University. Presently Dayna 16, (sophomore LHS) & John III 13, (7th grade Soehl Middle School). My goal with respect to my family is to see all of them attend college. I am a member of the LHS PTA; the Woodbridge BPOE; Sons of the American Legion, Hardwick VT.
Please feel free to write, call, or stop by my business @ 200 E St. Georges Ave. (across from Burger King) weekdays, after 5PM. This will assure my attention to you will not be interrupted. I look forward to hearing from you and anticipate a very good relationship!
