6th Ward Councilman Robert J. Sadowski
SIXTH WARD COUNCILMAN
To all my fellow 6th Ward residents, with profound gratitude, great humility, a deep sense of duty and and high resolve, I accept the position of 6th Ward Councilman with a full and grateful heart - without reservation - and with only one obligation - the obligation to devote every effort of body, mind and spirit to help get our party back to greatness. Today our concern must be with the future. For the world is changing. The old era is ending. The old ways will not do.
I choose change. I choose hope. I choose to believe in what Linden could be if we bring to Linden's government the talent and idealism and creativity of women and men who are willing to challenge the old ways that have let us down too often. And I invite everyone in our City to join on this journey. We need the best ideas and the best people from all corners, Democrats, Independents, and Republicans, to help turn our community around.
The real change comes when every man, woman, and child in this City has a reason to hope. That is where we are headed. I thank each and every one of you who played a role in my victory. Thank you all for being there, from the very beginning and on every single day of this campaign, over the last several months. I ask you not to see this just as my campaign, but as yours. Not just my chance to be Councilman, but your chance, our chance to reclaim our civic and political future, and that is why this victory is yours. It's yours.
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism; of service and responsibility where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves, but each other.
Let us resist the temptation to fall back on the same partisanship and pettiness and immaturity that has poisoned our politics for so long.
We are finally on the right path.
Please feel free to contact me, at any time, with your questions and/or concerns. I am retired, so I am available!
I thank you again for giving me this opportunity to serve you for another term.
