03.01.2017 - Possible Luring incident
On Wednesday, March 1st, 2017 Linden Police Officers spoke with a 16-year-old student at Linden High School who stated that at approximately 7:00 a.m. a thin white male with short brown hair wearing a grey shirt and sunglasses driving a blue 2-door vehicle pulled next to her and offered her a ride to school. The vehicle then fled the area traveling east on W. St. George Ave. The juvenile, who was unharmed, continued on her way to school where she reported the incident.
03.01.2017 - Arrest Made in Ercama Street Burglary
The Linden Police Department is proud to report that a suspect has been identified and arrested in connection with a Feb. 17 burglary that occurred on the 600 block of Ercama Street.
This morning, 23 year-old Plainfield resident Dawud Ward was arrested following a weeklong investigation led by Detective Kevin Mikolajczyk. Ward, who was incarcerated at Essex County Jail on unrelated charges, was charged with 1st degree robbery, 2nd degree burglary, and 3rd degree making terroristic threats. He remains in custody at Union County jail following a Superior Court appearance scheduled earlier this morning.
02.28.2017 - Middlesex Street Shooting
On Monday, February 27th Linden Police Officers responded to the 1300 block of Middlesex St on a report of shots fired. More than twenty rounds were fired during this incident, striking several homes and vehicles. There are no injuries reported at this time and no arrests have been made. There is still an active crime scene as Linden Police Detectives continue their investigation.
02.24.2017 - Ercama Street Reported Burglary
On Friday, February 17th, 2017 at approximately 12:34 PM the Linden Police Department responded to the 600 block of Ercama Street on a reported burglary. The suspect entered the home and confronted the resident. He indicated that he had a weapon and demanded money from the resident. The suspect then fled the home in an unknown direction. The victim was unharmed.
