Shortly after 9:00 a.m. we received information regarding an Instagram post containing a specific threat of violence against Linden High School. City and school Officials were notified and Linden High School was immediately placed in lockdown. Officers from Linden and surrounding towns responded to the High School and began a systematic search of the premises while Detectives simultaneously began to investigate the source of the threats. The lockdown remained in effect until about 1:00 p.m.
Chief Jonathan Parham was joined by Mayor Derek Armstead and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Danny Robertozzi briefed members of the media earlier this afternoon.
"This investigation is still very active, and for that reason we will not comment as to the specifics of the case other than to say have conducted a thorough search of the school and are confident that the students and faculty are safe." Said Chief Jonathan Parham.
