On July 28, 2015 the Linden Police Department conducted a mandatory training session for all employees. The training was an inspiration speech focusing on the difficult job of being a police officer. During a particular difficult time for not only law enforcement but the Linden Police Department Chief Schulhafer felt the need to address his undermanned and overworked department. The department partnered with American Traffic Solutions of Tempe, Arizona.
“American Traffic Solutions has been a great partner for us. Even though they are no longer providing red light traffic safety cameras for the City of Linden they have continued to support law enforcement and the Linden Police Department,” said Chief James Schulhafer. “I would like to particularly like to thank Charlie Callari for his unending support of our agency.”
The last five months has been extremely difficult time for all members on the department. Since the traffic accident in Staten Island N.Y. several members have sought various avenues for counseling. “Immediately following the crash Charlie Callari reached out to me and offered his condolences and support,” said Lt. Michael Babulski. “I remember a speaker who I met at an ATS conference a few years ago. She really had an impact on me and I thought she could help members of our department cope during a difficult time.”
Melissa Wandall (www.melissawandall.com) is a dynamic leader and inspiration speaker. She is the President of the National Coalition of Safer roads and a staunch supporter of traffic safety. “When I contacted Melissa she was eager to support the Linden Police Department,” said Babulski. “I was honored to be invited to speak at such an important event. The men and women of law enforcement put their lives on the line every day. Unfortunately they aren't immune to grief. I hope that I was able to help them see how important it is to make something good come from something bad,” says Melissa Wandall.
